Inside: Birdsall House in Peekskill
The unique little building that now houses the Birdsall House stands out on Peekskill's Main Street.
It’s the type of place you don't find around much anymore, which is why owners Tim Reinke and John Sharp took such care in restoring it—instead of finding another location to gut and rebuild. They liked what it had been.
These days, you'll find the building pretty much the same as it was when it was opened as Connolly's back in the 1940s. It’s a classic tavern with a big, long bar and booths to duck into and black and white floors.
Metromix takes you on a tour of this Peekskill favorite.
