The 18-seat Dish Gourmet Eatery, which opened in Mahopac in June 2008, is owned by chef Hannah Hopkins, left, and also features the culinary creations of chef Amanda Walley, right.
"I've always worked in health-food stores and delis," says Hopkins. "I love all kinds of food and grew up in a family that always cooked."
Hopkins draws on her training at the Natural Gourmet Institute of Cooking in Manhattan to create her organic and vegetarian dishes, which you can order to eat in or take out. Offerings include smoked salmon, croque monsieur, meats, soups and salads. And baker Cynthia Aversa conjures up cupcakes, macaroons, brownies and coconut-lime bars.
