Jim Stake, one of the owners of Croton Creek Steakhouse & Wine Bar, suggests coming for lunch, a late-night meal or Sunday brunch (offered the first three Sundays of the month from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.), when it's easy to dine for $20 or less. For brunch, try the French onion soup ($7) and the sliced skirt steak panino ($13) or the sweet Maine lobster chowder ($8) paired with a calamari wrap ($12).
