Flour and Sun Bakery
Move over, Magnolia. Westchester now has a cupcake bakery of its very own. Featuring more than 20 cupcake flavors that change daily, Flour and Sun Bakery is sure to become a local hot spot. The buttercream frosting is made fresh in small batches and generous amounts top each cupcake. Don't expect just plain vanilla, either. Recent frosting flavors have included mint vanilla and peanut butter chocolate swirl. Chocolate and vanilla cupcakes are available every day, but cupcake specials vary and are listed daily on their blog.
The bakery's cheerful space is just down the street from the Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville, a convenient location for customers and the bakery's owner, Denise Treco, who works at the film center. Treco has been selling her baked goods at Jacob Burns for a few years now and always knew she wanted to start her own business. When the storefront opened up, she jumped at the opportunity. One week after opening, they were filling a special order for a wedding.
Metromix's Maureen Fleming took a look inside the new bakery and she dares you to resist these delicious treats.
