Terra Rustica: User Reviews

Our family booked the Terra Rustica for a meal following a Funeral Mass. We arrived - on time - at 3 PM, and were the only people in the restaurant. By 5 PM, we were still waiting for our food to arrive. It even took them over an hour to serve a glass of wine and we could not get a waiter to refill our water glass. There were six staff members serving our party and - again - we were the only people in the restaurant.

While a few of us ordered a larger meal, my wife and I only ordered sandwiches and a cousin, just a salad. We still had to wait several hours for our food.

Then, in "port-de-la-sala" [pouring salt into a wound] fashion, the wait staff rarely got orders correct. They brought dishes to many of us which were not ordered, which meant that some of us were eating dessert before their meal even arrived.

For a restaurant, ( which can rarely compete to a real home-cooked Italian meal ) the food was fair, though it was extraordinarily salty. Our uncle - a Priest who served a term in Rome - thought his meal was "so-so." Our sandwiches were well made and thick with turkey meat, spinach and tomatoes. But again, so salty our mouth's puckered.

Prices were reasonable for many dishes. However, one of the "specials" was a Chicken Panini sandwich with a salad for $21. The "regular Panini sandwiches" were $10.00 and the salad was $8.50.
