Flashed: Roller Derby Eastern Regionals
Westchester's Suburbia Roller Derby hosted the women's flat track division Eastern Regional tournament this past weekend at the Weschester County Center in White Plains. Bells were ringing, the crowd was cheering and emotions were running high when Metromix stopped in during one of the closest bouts of the weekend. Carolina and Montreal were neck and neck the entire game, with scores criss-crossing as often as the players. A medic was called out to the track twice due to spills. At the very end there was some deliberation before the final score was announced, and both teams waited with baited breath. In the end, Carolina was the winner, 127 to 125, in the exhilarating bout.
