Playland Ice Casino
1 Playland Parkway - RyeThe amusement park at Playland may be closed during the winter, but the Ice Casino is in full swing all season. Home ice for the Manhattanville Valiants, the rink offers a game room and snack bar for breaks off the ice. On Friday nights, a DJ takes over and takes skaters' requests. Admission will set you back $8, and if you need to rent skates, it will cost you another $4, but it's still a cheap night out!
Brewster Ice Arena
63 Fields Lane - BrewsterHockey buffs and figure skating fans alike will dig this rink. This arena has three rinks and offers sticks, pucks and public sessions, so ice lovers of all kinds will be satisfied. The onsite pro shop can get you outfitted for a day of skating and Players Restaurant and Sports Bar is a great place to chill between sessions. For adults, admission is $7 plus $3 if you need skate rentals. Friday nights cost $10 for all-inclusive fun.
Edward J. Murray Memorial Skating Center
348 Tuckahoe Road - YonkersThe city of Yonkers owns this rink that has been offering ice time since 1960. With 11 public sessions a week, anyone can get in on the action. Lessons are available fand a DJ takes over the evening weekend sessions. Adults will fork over $6.75 to get in and $3.50 charge for skate rental.
Palisades Center Ice Rink
4900 Palisades Center - West NyackLocated in Rockland's mall and entertainment mecca, this rink offers more than just a place to skate while on a shopping trip. With stick time, hockey and public sessions, everyone can get his or her skate on. The rink's also the home of many adult league games, so those who’d rather be a spectator can check out the live action. Admission for adults is $7, plus $3 for skate rentals. Skate fanatics can sign up for a season pass deals to save some cash over the long haul.
Westchester Skating Academy
91 Fairview Park Drive - ElmsfordWith twin NHL-sized rinks, this arena is home to plenty of skaters during the winter months. But the fun doesn’t end off the ice. Spectators can check out the rink from a fully heated viewing area lets and kick back at the café, which serves beer and wine. The place even has adult-only sessions during the week for those serious about getting some ice time. Those who are more into the recreational aspect can swing by on Friday and Saturday nights for a DJ and light show. General admission for adults is $10.25 and renting skates costs $4.00.
