This family farm has been around since 1712, but the "famous" apple-cider doughnuts were not introduced until the 1960s, based on an old family recipe. They have, apparently, been a hit ever since. (USA Today ranked them as No. 4 in the country.) The Orchards of Concklin has turned doughnuts into a bustling cottage industry, selling them at farmers markets from Goshen to City Hall in Manhattan, and everywhere in between - which means the doughnut machines are going nearly 24 hours a day. A bag of half-dozen plain, cinnamon or powdered-sugar doughnuts is $2.19.
