All Access: The Chance Complex in Poughkeepsie

The Chance Complex in downtown Poughkeepsie houses The Chance theater, The Loft nightclub, the Platinum Lounge and The Nuddy Irishmen bar-restaurant. The historic structure, originally dubbed the Dutchess Theater, was built in 1918. In the '70s, the bar changed its name to the Last Chance Saloon, and in 1982 opened as a music venue. Owner Frank Pallett, who made the Chance what it is today, bought the place in 1994.
