I moved to Kingston about 6 months ago from Brooklyn, and had found Snapper Magee's right here on Metromix after reading the reviews I thought they were a little over overly positive but still had to check the place out. After my first night I was sold, Snapper Magee's is now "My" bar, and I think that's part of it's charm and why people of all walks are so drawn to it, anyone can feel at home here. Yes there are patrons I don't care for but everyone seems to be kept in check by the "Be Good Or Be Gone" sign behind the bar, the beer and drinks are inexpensive unlike other Kingston establishments, the live shows I have seen have all been great, Jukebox is great if you like rock & roll, punk and ska, staff is also great, all are friendly and welcoming, in the 6 months I've been going I have never seen a fight or seen any drugs. As mentioned in previous reviews it is definitely a dive, but that's part of it's charm, its a funky little place that doesn't pretend to be cool. It just is cool. Yup It's a Great Little Place. If your in Kingston check it out, leave your ego at the door and have a good time.

Dont let the pictures and detailed description fool you. First off Newburgh is not the greatest of areas. It is not the safest and most pleasant of cities. Then there is the actual bar. The bar is fairly small and not much room besides the dance floor in the back. The service isnt all that great and the facilities are not kept in the best conditions. Prices arent bad but i recommend you take your time and money to another place.

Gallery Billiards is a great laid back place to shoot some pool on professional pool tables plus order your favorite drink while you do. Not many pool halls have a full service bar but this one does! They also have a fantastic juke box plus TVs to watch the game. It's like having your own man cave at a price that won't break your wallet, plus the owners are cool and work hard to keep the place professional and clean! They even have weekly tournaments too! I definitely recommend checking them out if you are looking for an alternative to the typical movie night.

I can see why this place won the best dive bar award from metromix in 2010, & when I say Dive I mean it in a good way, it's a real drinking place, non pretencious, inexpensive, great jukebox and a great staff, it may look a little rough and dingy, but I have had nothing but good times in this place, be it 3pm or 3 am, there is always a kind bartender and equally kind patrons to make my visit a pleasant one. if you want a simple inexpensive place to hang out with friends this is the spot.

Just got done eating at the Erie got 3 raw steaks we sent them back got 3 more raw steaks back. Asked the waitress to see a manager and the chef. We didn't get to see either of them. Then they only take 20$ off the bill when the 3 raw steaks were $22 each. One member in my party ate half of his steak to the middle we didn't even get his steak brought back after, I couldn't even eat one bite of my steak because it was near completely raw, the other member ate 2 bites and then took another bite and couldn't even swallow it because it was so raw. I wanted to ask the chef to eat a piece of this steak he cooked that was so called medium when it looked exactly like raw steak in the middle. I've ate hear before a few times order the same thing and had it cooked medium but after tonight's experience I don't know if I'll ever come back.

GREAT PLACE, I am a local guy went to the pub for the first time tonight. quite local bar. great place to enjoy a cold beer and free snacks after a long day. Mature crowd, very friendly staff and great patons. enjoyed the internet juke box. Had a great time and will be going back again soon

The waitress was rude.... asking for a credit card because it was her time to leave yet we werent finished with our meal or drinks. i blantantly told her no... paid cash... and nope.. she didnt get a tip.... the dance floor is DANGEROUS!!! uneven.. wet and way too many on it... id almost bet a fire hazard... and yep. im reporting it.... the ladies room.. could use paper towels you pigs.. some of us do wash our hands.. whiich tells me your hog.. waitresses pee and dont wash.. ortherwise the hogs would know THERE WERENT ANY PAPER TOWELS... report to health department... so you wonder who frequents your lousy establishment.. it might be a cop.. it might be a college student.. it might be a houseiwife.. but.. it might also be a pillar of the community and a nurse..hmmmmmm huh... next.. taxi's blocking cars. and little piggy drunk boys sitting like animals.. yelling back when told to get the hell out of the way.. ridiculous this place is.. dangers all around... outside and inside.... id have to wonder what they serve their hogs for dinner?

We went to Ron Blacks this weekend and the food was terrible. It was a shame too because it was really nice inside. The wings were horrible. The worst wings that I ever had in a restaurant. I ordered the chicken club and the chicken tasted really gamey and bad. My husband ordered a burger and he asked for it medium and it was over cooked.

This place is just rotten; its atmosphere is the very worst one I have ever encountered. Most people coming to this place are full of malice. I am sure the background of any one of them is utterly despicable. Charlie, one of the bartenders, is a two-faced and, of course, a very evil person. To cut the long story short, this place could hardly be more revolting! May it close down forever and ever in the very near future!

Unfortunately whoever owns this place did not take their time to hire the right staff, nor the right cooks. I have eaten there 3 times and each time was worse than the last. This past time I forgot a personal belonging and I called right after I left and the "manager" Frankie was extremely rude, unhelpful, and an overall jerk. Its a fun place to dance and have a drink. But if you have to have any encounters with the staff OR the food, good luck! I promise you will more than likely be disappointed... which is unfortunate.

Came across this place on my way to Cornwall Nov 2011. Who Knew? Great Food, Good Atmosphere. The Bartender on Saturday afternoons is Smoking Hot!!!!!!!!! The food is very reasonably priced, Yummy..... especially the wings, Flat screen TV's eveywhere. There is also a jukebox (Bose sound system) that thums! so your in control of your own party.

The loft is a great place to go hang out and listen to some real live music with a lot of Hardcore rock and other alternative styles of music. The bands and people who perform here are willing to give you a great show and all they really ask is for people to come listen and try to understand who they are for a second. The Loft has everything from great bartenders to incredible ticket ladies and let's not forget the low costs even the bouncers are fun to hang around. So come have fun maybe bring someone who can offer these musical artists a shot but if you can't do that a little worship would be nice too lol!!!!!!
