Hudson Valley beer guide
"Beer belongs on the dinner table." That's Bill Woodring, president and co-founder of TAP New York, repeating the phrase that has become his mantra during the 30 years he has spent educating people about beer. As he speaks, there is a pint in his hand and he is sitting on a bar stool at one of his favorite haunts: the Golden Rail Ale House in Newburgh, which has one of the best selection of drafts in the Hudson Valley.
Appreciation of craft brews has become something of a movement, and the Hudson Valley has been embracing the trend in a variety of ways. There are bars that offer huge selections with ever-changing draught lines and breweries that keep their doors open to the public. These places have a big bottled selection, but more importantly, they have drafts that make it worth the detour.
