Snapper's was voted Best Dive Bar in Metromix's Best of 2010 contest!
Since opening its doors on North Front Street in Kingston, Snapper Magee's has earned a reputation for being a punk rock club, setting it apart from other bars and venues in the Valley.
And while Snapper's is a venue for the underground music scene, the bar is more than its sporadic concerts and awesome jukebox. It has become an area staple and regular hang out where anyone— yes really anyone — is welcome. Artists, frat boys, hipsters, retirees and bikers can mix and mingle seven days of the week.
"We never have problems here," says Becky, a bartender who has been working at Snapper Magee's for ages. "No fights, nothing like that. The people are really great." "
Patrons say the atmosphere is non-judgmental and friendly, and that's what keeps them coming back. That, and the jukebox.
It's hard to miss Snapper Magee's, just look for the dog with attitude.
