Easily one of the Newburgh waterfront’s staple bars, 26 Front Street’s line to get in often stretches all the way to the street on summer nights.

That could be because the popular nightclub is huge, with both an indoor an outdoor bar.

Inside, there are some VIP style couches in the back.  But who wants to be inside anyway? On the warm nights of the summer, the Tiki bar lights up right on the water.

Vibe: The scene at the Newburgh hot spot varies from night to night. On Tuesdays, country night brings in crowds from their early 20s all the way up to folks in their 50s for some rowdy dancing.  Every Thursday is Baggo (kind of like a cross between bean bags and horseshoe toss) night with weekly tournaments and different acoustic bands.

Friday and Saturday nights are when the club heats up.  All types of partygoers show up to party hard with Front Street’s DJs until last call at 3:30 a.m.

Attire: The dress code for the nightclub on Friday and Saturday is a pretty lengthy one, including no excessively baggy clothes, no hats and no bandanas. Other nights of the week, they keep things pretty casual and so can you.

Have in Hand:
Besides popular classics like Hennessy and Coke, Red Devils, and Long Island Iced Teas, Front Street sells a lot of their own creations like the Melon Mango Mai Tai and Mangopolitan. The bar also has an ample supply of your favorite beers on hand.

On Friday night happy hour goes from 4 to 10 p.m. with half-price drinks.

Front Street doubles as a restaurant with a standard, informal menu.  The sampler includes a platter of wings, mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders, and Philly cheese steak rolls.  It feeds 4 people for $12.  Also popular are their hamburgers, crab cakes and clams.

Thursday is BBQ night with all-you-can-eat chicken, ribs, burgers, hot dogs, baked beans, cole slaw, corn bread, and mac ‘n cheese for $18.95.

Entertainment: Front Street’s roster of live rock bands includes Good ‘N Loaded, Nuts in a Blender, That 80’s Band, Philip the Meatbox, the Brian Tice Band and more.  Once a month, Front Street hosts beach parties, charity events and country theme parties.  Oh, and sometimes on country night, they bust out the mechanical bull.  We dare you.
