All Access: Lafayette Theatre in Suffern
The Lafayette Theatre in Suffern is a 1920s movie palace that holds 1,000 people, has box seats and a huge balcony. The theatre houses a rare Wurlitzer organ in working condition that is played for moviegoers on Friday and Saturday nights before the show begins.
The Lafayette shows popular first-run films, hosts a big screen classics series, and works with Rivertown Films, showing a weekly selection of independent, foreign and art films. The theatre has also recently been fitted to show the newest 3D movies, which means patrons can view the latest special effects in a historic setting.
Metromix takes you on an All Access tour of the Suffern theatre.
